How to wash towels? What washing agents do not destroy towels?

It is worth paying attention to the detergents in which you wash your towels. Light-colored towels should be washed in an all-purpose powder detergent, and dark towels in a powder for washing colored fabrics. Only if your towels are very dirty should you add the full recommended amount of powder. You should also limit the amount of fabric softener and fabric softener, as they reduce the absorbency of the towels.

Instead of bleach, which contains chlorine and ruins the color of the towel, it is advisable to use vinegar. Every few washes put them before washing in water with a few tablespoons of vinegar, and you will successfully get rid of unpleasant odors, sweat or grease.

When you buy a new towel, be sure to wash it before you use it for the first time. This will get rid of the chemical components used in production and increase the absorption of moisture from our skin

So how to wash towels? The most important thing is to check what the manufacturer recommends on the label. A good way to wash very dirty towels is to soak them in cool water for an hour before putting them in the washing machine. Body towels and kitchen towels should be washed separately at a temperature of at least 60°C to kill bacteria and viruses. The highest possible temperature in the washing machine is 95°C, then you can be sure to get rid of bacteria as well as parasites and fungi, but only children’s towels or towels for the sick should be boiled. Washing light colored towels is recommended between 60°C and 95°C, and colored towels between 40°C and 50°C. They may fade at higher temperatures.

Microfiber towels, which are usually the quick-drying ones, should be washed at up to 40°C and always without softener and avoid sun drying and ironing. Otherwise, it may lose its microfiber properties

How often should I wash my towels?

This is an individual question, depending on how often the towel is used and the conditions in the bathroom. Moisture is the best environment for the development of bacteria and microbes, so if the room is often steamed and poorly ventilated then you should change them even every 2-3 days

When buying towels, pay attention to quality. It is best that they are made of 100% cotton. If you take care of them properly, they will certainly serve for many years.
