It sometimes happens to everyone that their favourite pants or shirt gets dirty with grease while renovating, working in the workshop or repairing a car or bike. What to do then? First of all, don’t panic. Here are some simple ways to get rid of the unwanted grease stain.

How to remove the grease stain?

First of all, remember not to subject the stain to high temperatures – this will only strengthen the stain and make it practically impossible to remove. If the stain is still quite fresh, the best agents that can help us remove this type of stain are: grey soap, dishwashing liquid, extraction gasoline, health and safety paste, stain remov ers (although they do not always work well), you can also use fat (butter or oil). The last group of remedies helps to dissolve the grease, making it easier to remove from the fabric. This takes a little time, but it’s really effective and, best of all, it’s a remedy readily available in every home. In case of stubborn stains on thick fabrics, you can try to remove them with boiling water and dishwashing liquid or washing powder. When all home methods fail, the only remaining option is to have the clothes dry-cleaned, but this does not give a 100% guarantee of success.
